Design Spotlight: Purposefully Selected

When Kristen Bryant was 16 years old, she dreamt of one day starting her own graphic design business. She thought it would stay just that – a dream. Kristen went on to earn her undergraduate degree in Graphic Design and her terminal Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, which opened an opportunity to teach the next generation of students at the collegiate level.

In 2018, Kristen married her husband Jeremy, who made it a goal to help Kristen achieve her business dream and share her passion for teaching graphic design with the world. Then, in 2022, that dream materialized in the form of Purposefully Selected.

In just two years, Purposefully Selected has grown exponentially. The Pensacola, Florida based agency has already attracted several nationally renowned clients, including Chick-fil-A and GoHooper.com, and a handful of local clients, including Wagner Kent Team Real Estate and Author/Keynote Speaker Kristie Tobias. Offering everything from consulting services to bespoke branding packages, Purposefully Selected is quickly becoming a powerhouse in the world of visual design.

We reached out to Kristen and Jeremy Bryant to shed some light on their recent success.

How did Purposefully Selected come about?  

Jeremy: “Purposefully Selected was born from a desire to breathe visual life and beauty into the dreams of others. Kristen has the ability to see what the clients describe (even in its abstract form) and expertly render that idea and capture their vision. We strive to connect with the client and provide a personalized experience.”

What type of design services do you offer?

Kristen: “Our design services include brand strategy, visual identity, and bespoke design packages tailored to your needs. While branding is our specialty, our bespoke packages can also feature book cover and interior layout design, podcast and album cover design, print design, retainer services, and more.”

Jeremy: “From the initial discovery call to product launch and beyond, we provide personalized experiences, ensuring top-quality visual design that grows with your business. Taking lessons from the practices of Disney and Chick-Fil-A, we strive to deliver a collaborative experience of care and hospitality that leaves you feeling valued and empowered with confidence in your brand as you move forward. We’re passionate about involving you in the process, enhancing your understanding of graphic design and visual communication.”

What inspires you to grow?

Kristen: “Growth is beautifully messy. As a recovering perfectionist, growth means taking steps to be 1% better each day rather than trying to reach 100% perfection. One thing that inspires my growth is seeing how far I’ve come. On my 10th birthday, I took an inventory of my young life and challenged myself with “What have you done with your life and what are you going to do this year?” That yearly tradition spurs me forward, and the “aha” moment in the eyes of our clients when they see our solutions to their needs provides another source of inspiration. Being able to visualize their dream and provide them with a product that aids in their success is thrilling.”

Jeremy: “What inspires me to grow is my desire to help others. Exploring leadership development materials and researching new ways to innovate excites me because as I learn it enables me to collaborate with others to help them grow. It brings me joy seeing someone else light up with clarity and curiosity after sharing things I’ve recently learned.”

Where do you see Purposefully Selected in the next 5 years?

Jeremy: “In the next five years, we see the company not just creating world-influencing design solutions for established and new businesses alike, but actively investing in the future of graphic design.”

Kristen: “We are developing an internship program, e-learning courses, and other resources to help young entrepreneurs and anyone with a dream to start their own business, launch their product, write that book, and do what they have been created to do.”
